Awesome
You were fortunate. Consider yourself as having dodged a bullet and stay away. I cant emphasize enough how negative my experience was here. Again, I wasn't made ill or anything, but the service sucked, the food was utterly without any compelling qualities and it was expensive.
Good home cooking, friendly service and good prices. I had fried mushrooms as an appetizer and catfish & coconut shrimp for meal. All good!
My wife and I went in for breakfast. It wasn’t busy so we were served quickly. I got a meat, cheese and egg biscuit which was really good. My wife just got a sausage biscuit. She said it was OK. She went to the restroom and came back saying it was nasty. I started looking around and saw what she was talking about. The air vents on the ceiling look like they’ve never been cleaned. The floors were horrible. With all of the stuff on shelves up high, there’s no way that ever gets dusted. Our table was kind of sticky even though I saw a server cleaning a table with a spray bottle of something. My thoughts are that if you don’t clean the areas that people see, you sure don’t clean the areas that people don’t see. Good food or not, it’s a filthy place. We won’t step foot back in there.
Waited for over an hour, when it wasn't even busy. Stuck it out after 2 other tables that had been there just as long left. When we finally got our appetizers of Fried Green Tomatoes and Green Beans, another table left. Took another 30 minutes before we got our main course and it was more than disappointing. We saw them take our food out of the microwave.... Really? Chicken Fried steak was bland and not edible. Mashed potatoes were disgusting. The burger was extremely overdone. Never even got our starter salads until the meal was brought out. The best thing about the meal was those that we shared this terrible meal with and leaving the restaurant. A year ago when we visited, this was THE best, now we won't take that chance again.
First I will say we were quickly seated at a table and our drinks were fixed. We ordered our food after a while. Then our service went south. Had to request refills then we got service for a second. Then no service till we were.trying to leave. Food was great. Service was awful.
When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted quite quickly and seated. Our drink order was taken right away with our appetizer order and it came within 10 minutes. The pulled pork loaded nachos are a meal in itself. Easy for two to share. Then we waited 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The kitchen was overwhelmed with two very large groups and they weren't able to keep up. When we got our food it was well worth the wait. This was truly home cooking at its finest. The owner, Shirley, came out to greet us and gave us a history of the restaurant and the building. I was quite pleased with her gracious demeanor and hospitality. If you're willing to wait for your food, enjoy the atmosphere and good company. Be prepared to take leftovers home. The portions are Hardy and you will be pleasantly surprised other quality. The gumbo is quite good but the roux is very mild. The twice baked potato is really nice and the cornbread is amazing.
Don’t let first impressions fool you. We almost walked out when we walked in because it is outdated and dingy but we decided to stay. The food took longer than expected but was so worth the wait. By far the best philly cheese steak I’ve ever had. It was the most tender meat ever and had such perfect flavor. I highly recommend trying this place. All 6 of us were very happy with our food.
The food was amazing, with great portion sizes.. Our waitress Amanda was extremely helpful.. Will be eating breakfast here tomorrow...
Great service and good breakfast food
Fantastic food, great prices, and wonderful staff.
Granny's was a decent joint. The food was okay. One of the servers ignored my family and I a few times. My mom didn't like her burger and I thought it tasted a little funny. They were nice there. Cool decorations around the restaurant.
Very quaint, great southern food, great prices and very friendly waitresses.Definitely eat here when in Hot Springs, AR! Thanks, Linda, for a great meal.
There is always food left over to take home and the atmosphere is like being at home for the holidays
Very slow. Servers yell at each other. Can't even enjoy a meal... if you even get it. Not worth it.
Not sure what the 3.2 overall rating is about.... wife and I went here this morning for a late breakfast... pictured is the everything omelet with home fries, wheat toast & a double stack of French toast (all of which was devoured and to die for)!! The wife got something simple, but she told me I need to tell all y’all about the biscuits (I can attest to), and the peanut butter pancakes... just come in and try this noise... super laid back atmosphere, nice staff, and pretty prompt service... will come back again!
Sevice is excellent, food is tasty, clean inside. Would eat here again.
Nice little place downtown Hot Springs. We got there at closing time. The waitress was really nice and told us we could order and take our time. We had the Club sandwich. It was pretty good.
Yummy!! Enjoyed every bite! We will be back!! Thank you!!! ❤ chicken salad was amazing! Just like my Grandmother made!
Loved it. Food fresh and definitely good social distancing!
Food great, service not so much (no refills, no ketchup until literally getting the bill) but polite. DONT order drinks! $3 for each! Otherwise great value
Great cheeseburger and fries.
Great food and even better service at good prices i will definitely go back to eat here.
We really like this place. Every th hing we've had was good. Goid comfort food and a great Chef salad.
Didn't have any idea how good the food was, I highly recommend Granny's!I had the gumbo and it's real Cajun gumbo, it's excellent. My niece had the fried catfish my nephew had the chicken fried steak. It was ALL excellent. Hand breaded steak and fresh fried okra. The chicken fried steak was fork tender! No knife needed! Homemade cornbread that was so good! We went back 2 days later and the food was excellent! Be prepared though, Granny's makes the food fresh......the chicken fried steak was not frozen from the freezer, the vegetables are fresh so if your meal doesn't pop right out don't be surprised. It's bring freshly prepared and worth waiting for. Very friendly staff. They have another Cafe on Higdon Ferry road and can't wait to try that as well!
Great place for low key eats. Staff was very friendly.
the food was great and the service was amazing! thank you Emily, you were the best!
Upon arrival, there were several open tables and 3 waitresses (15-16 tables total). We were seated within a couple of minutes but our drink order was not taken for another 10-15 minutes. After receiving our drinks and our order taken, over an hour passed without our food being delivered. At 1.5 hours I left enough cash for the drinks and walked out. Our order was nothing fancy just pancakes eggs and biscuits with gravy. I was not impressed. I gave them 2 stars as I did not try their food, it may have been good but I will never know.
Was seated them forgot about. 3rd waitress took our order. Forgot about again. Asked a different waitress and got our food but she was upset. Then an item was not brought and told her and she didnt get it till we got up and asked. Half way through before that item came out. The did discount a little off.
I ordered breakfast. Large portions. Good food. Very friendly staff.
Super good food. It reminded me of home cooked meals! The place felt cozy and the prices were reasonable.
Me and my husband decided to stop here for breakfast. The food was good, the prices were fair and the portion size was perfect (had a little bit left over but not much and was full but didn't feel like I was going to explode) The staff was friendly and food came out quickly. So far my favorite diner in Hot Springs
My husband and I decided to stop in for lunch, we were greeted and seated promptly, our waitress was very friendly, my husband ordered the Cheeseburger & tots, I had the Turkeyburger, grilled onions & mushrooms and seasoned fries and the wait was not that long...OMG!! The food far exceeded our expectations, it was well seasoned, fresh and hot...sooo good. 👍 The waitress talked -up the Fried Coconut Pie... So I tried it...Hmmm hmm good!! So buttery and delicious. My only thumbs down 👎 was the cushions on the seats (too thin & worn) and the tables and floor was rather sticky. (Could have been the products they use idk, but the food was awesome!! #tryit4urself
The service was great and the food was good .
Wonderful, homey eat place. My favorite breakfast place in Hot Springs, AR. They also have other food, but the homemade pancakes, biscuits and gravy are delicious. I always order too much, and eat too much. Reasonable prices. Used to eat breakfast in an upscale breakfast place down the street, it cannot compare to Granny's.
Was skeptical as there were no lines to get in, and their rating was only 3.3, but I'm glad I tried them. They're coffee was excellent as was their food. I had the chicken fried chicken. It was hand breaded, and the mashed potatoes were real. Their cornbread was fantastic.
Breakfast was great. Pancakes, seriously good... and crispy... and delicious. Fast service, good food, decent prices.
Amazing food, really friendly people fast service all out awesome place
Great breakfast and friendly service. Large portions and fast delivery.
First time going there and I was impressed. They accommodated my husbands breakfast request and gave him chicken fried steak (usually just for lunch) with gravy for breakfast with hash browns and eggs and bacon. I got the French toast meal and although the french toast was a tad over seasoned maybe with allspice or nutmeg it was still cooked right and decent. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is nice and the people are friendly. I will go back for sure.
Great service amazing food
Food was cooked in old grease. It left a terrible taste in our mouths, couldn't even finish it.
Perfect sandwiches. Good service.
I wish I would’ve read these reviews before eating here. Yes, the place is not clean. Do not use the restrooms. Our waitress was coughing all over the place. We just got burgers and they were thin and flavorless. One waitress complained the whole time about the lack of tips she was getting. Do not recommend!!!
Nice authentic place. Food was a bit slow coming. Fries were soggy.
Great food. Waitress was friendly but kind of pricey
We came on a sunny afternoon around 3:00 pm. The shopping strip was where it is located was full of people walking so there is lots to see. We were seated immediately. The restaurant has a homely feeling to it. The staff is extremely friendly 😊. I ordered the Philly beef N Chz and my wife had the hot ham N Chz. The food was cooked very well and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend if you are walking by and you want a quick meal. Portion sizes were very good and the prices were very good for what you get. I will be back again.
Horrible service. We waited so long to be waited on. An employee promised to take our order and she never came back to our table. Had to track down someone else to take our order (she was actually helpful) We watched a big table leave while we waited. They never got served even after an employee yelled across the floor for someone to help them. They never got helped. They left. The place wasn't even that packed.
They were very rude, the lady rushed us out. But let us sit down and order hot cholate the basiclly told us to leave they were closed.. she said she was ready to get off and eat a greasy hamburger. Needs better customer service,
This place should have much higher ratings!! I had a breakfast special platter with eggs, sausage and pancakes. My husband had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and cornbread. Everything was phenomenal! !! The only side item I would not give 5 stars were the grits. I would give them a 4, but truthfully I am a grits snob🤷. We found a new favorite place to eat when we come to our favorite little getaway in Arkansas!
The biscuits and sausage gravy were so delicious, huge servings of food, and yummy hot coffee. The prices were good, and our waitress was working hard and smiling the whole time.
Slow service, good food.
